Slam Dunk.

I would like to say goodbye to all of my readers if I had any.

        I want us to keep our blogs because I want to be able to see the writing I did now and compare it to how I write in the future. I hope Mr.Mayo lets us keep these blogs because I really like them.

         It is now the Conference finals and only four teams are left. Those teams are the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Detroit Pistons and the San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers won the series between them and San Antonio 4 games to 1. Also the Celtics won their series between them and Detroit 4 games to 2.

          Now the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers are the only ones left and are going to be in the NBA Finals together. The big three v. Kobe. The NBA Finals start on June 5th this year. The big three include Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.

            It is now the second round of the NBA playoffs and it is the New Orleans Hornets against the San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit Pistons against the Orlando Magic. It is also the Los Angeles Lakers against the Utah Jazz. Also the Boston Celtics against the Cleveland Cavaliers.                              

                    The Boston Celtics are up against the Cavaliers 1-0 and play tonight. The Detroit Pistons lead the Magic 2-1 and play again on Saturday. The Lakers are also leading the Jazz 2-0 and play Friday. Last the New Orleans Hornets also lead their series and play the Spurs again tonight up 2-0. Most people want either the Celtics, Hornets, or Lakers to go all the way and win everything.

I read a poem by Genaro from Bronx, NY, “Where I’m From,”  was very interesting and I liked it. He showed different places and things that he comes from and what makes him, him. One of the sentences he wrote that I liked was “From rice and chickens that I enjoy.” I think this was funny becauseI really like to eat rice and chicken and he used the phrase in a poem but I also liked it because I know he was describing something by using the phrase. Another sentence I really liked was “I’m from ovens
from the sweet smell of spices and sugars.” This stood out for me because he is desribing what he came from with an oven, sugar and spices. Thanks for your writing I hope to read more of your writings because I enjoyed this writing. I also hope to read more because you are a very good writer.

               The playoffs have started and the #1 seeds are the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. The number 2 seeds are the New Orleans Hornets and the Detroit Pistons. The 3 seeds are the San Antonio Spurs and the Orlndo Magic and the 4 seeds are the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Utah Jazz. The 5 seeds are the Houston Rockets and the Washington Wizards and the 6 seeds are the Toronto Rapters and the Phoenix Suns and the 7 seeds are the Philadelphia 76ers and the Dallas Mavericks. Thee 8 seeds are the Atlanta Hawks and the Denver Nuggets.

               The Lakers already beat the Nuggets once in this series and they are about to play each other today. The Celtics are the east’s number 1 seed and have the best record in the league and have beat everyone in the league and people think they’re going to win the championship and they beat the hawks once this series as well and play today. The new orleans hornets beat the Dallas Mavericks twice in their series and the 76ers beat the pistons once in their series and play tonight.

            I think it is global responsibility to stop the Genocide in
Darfur. The UN already offered to send troops to
Darfur to stop the Janjaweed-the main cause of the many deaths-and the Genocide. When the UN offered the troops the Sudanese government said those troops must be African. The Sudanese government started the Genocide by trying to remove rebels. The rest of the world need to find a way to help stop the Genocide and they need to make an argument to their own government. They need to make many arguments because that is what it’s going to take.

Make sure the next president is not only focused on certain things, but also focused on Darfur. Take back American dollars, companies from foriegn countries use to fund the genocide in Darfur. There is a limited amount of time for us to help save the Darfurians.  The war of Darfur all started because of the Sudanese government and when they tried to stop the Genocide they couldn’t do it. Now since Sudan wont stop the Genocide, China is pressuring the Sudanese government to stop the Genocide. They are pressuring Sudan because of the Olympics.

China are the main buyers of Sudan’s oil export and is Sudan’s main resource for weapons. People criticise China of not using its influence with Sudan’s government to stop the killings in Darfur. Lui Guijin, urges rebels in Darfur to return to peace. China is pursuing peace in Darfur and wants Sudan to develop stability. The reason China is trying to step up and stop the genocide in Darfur, is because of the olympics in Beijing this summer.  Internationalist estimate that 200,000 people have died and 2.5 million have been driven from their homes since mostly non-Arab Darfur rebels took over in 2003.  The United Nations said on Sunday it has received reports of aerial bombing in Jabel Moun. Those in Darfur who were driven from their homes were driven to neighboring country Chad. They said the bombing occurred in spite of assurances from Khartoum.

My favorite post this year was the 8 stages of genocide. My opinion on using our blogs in class, is that we are becoming better writers because we have to use our blogs so much and we’re writing so much and that we are saving paper by using these blogs. This my writing has improved because I’m starting to write way more in one blog post than I was in the beginning of the year. One thing I do well now is when I’m asked to do a blog post on my blog I’m most likely to do the post. One thing that I need t work on, is to make my writing way more exciting than it is.
